Catuai is a hybrid of Mundo Novo and Caturra. It was developed in Brazil in the 1950-60's for greater yields and shorter, squatter bushes for ease of harvesting. It is also grows stronger branches to prevent limb damage and crop loss. Catuai was developed by the Instituto Argonomico do Campinas.
